Advocacy Mission

Community Action Partnership of Utah is dedicated to achieving socially just public policy that lessens barriers, creates opportunities, and assists Utahns living in poverty in their efforts to achieve self-sufficiency.  CAP Utah’s primary advocacy and policy research are on anti-poverty, affordable housing, and asset building policy focusing on legislation at the state-level.

Goals to meet this mission are:

1. To lead the ongoing exchange of ideas, research, and data to influence the policy debate about reducing  poverty   and increasing opportunity in Utah.

2. To utilize an array of social mediums and events to promote awareness of the need for public policy which  address the needs of low-income Utahns.

3. To develop and maintain a strong network with Community Action Agencies, community partners, policy  makers,   and people living with low-incomes to work cooperatively to support public policy that reduces poverty  in Utah.
