The Family Investment Coalition (FIC) is a statewide nonpartisan coalition of organizations dedicated to helping all Utah families become financially self-sufficient. We work to ensure that federal and state programs adequately support the economic needs of all members of our community.
The basic principles of the coalition are:
Economic Growth: Budget decisions at both the state and federal levels should recognize that public investments are extremely effective in promoting job and wage growth.
Community Strength: Federal and state budget decisions should recognize that improving the conditions and opportunities of those who are economically vulnerable strengthens communities.
Civic Engagement: Engagement of member agencies and community members in the legislative process is essential to improving the conditions of economically vulnerable families and should be supported and encouraged.
Membership is free and based on a tiered commitment.
Levels of Participation:
- Receiving only email updates
- Advising and attending Press Conferences/Trainings/ Workshops
- Singing on, when appropriate, to letters/fact sheets
- Attending some (1-4) meetings during the General Legislative Session
- Attending most (5-8) meetings during the General Legislative Session
- Attending some (1-3) meetings during the Interim Legislative Session
- Attending most (4-6) meetings during the Interim Legislative Session

Meetings:
The Family Investment Coalition’s Advocate Caucus is held monthly during the General Session. The FIC Caucus also meets monthly during the Legislative Interim Session. At each meeting we will discuss policy and budget issues of interest to advocate's and the citizens we serve. For a schedule of upcoming meetings please contact us.
